ABOUT
Harumi & Kamacho
Harumi began dancing at the age of two when her parents enrolled her in ballet classes. From that moment on, dance became her entire world. She trained and competed extensively in classical ballet, jazz, contemporary, modern, and character dance. Harumi was accepted into numerous prestigious intensive programs specializing in the Balanchine method and, between the ages of 10 and 16, traveled and performed with renowned institutions including American Ballet Theatre, Houston Ballet, and Ballet West.
She later fell in love with the artistry and musicality of Brazilian Zouk, dedicating herself fully to the style. In less than two years, under Kamacho’s training, she progressed from the Novice to Advanced division, actively competing and refining her craft. In 2025, she won first place in the Jack and Jill at the World Championships. She later began training in West Coast Swing, further expanding her technical knowledge and creative expression.
Kamacho was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. As a child, he was passionate about soccer before discovering his true calling in dance. He developed a deep dedication to Brazilian Zouk and now brings over 17 years of experience as a dancer and instructor. He is the founder of Kamillion Arts Dance School in Rio de Janeiro, where he created the intensive “Zouk Factory” immersive training program. To strengthen his versatility and teaching approach, he pursued extensive training in ballet, jazz, modern, contemporary, and hip-hop.
Throughout his career, Kamacho has earned numerous competitive titles, including multiple first-place finishes and a second-place title at the 2024 US Open Cabaret Division. Known for his distinctive style, signature movements, and innovative choreography, he is one of the most internationally toured Zouk artists and is recognized as a champion by the Brazilian Zouk Dance Council. Kamacho is deeply inspired by the poetic nature of dance, which continues to shape his passion and creative vision.
Kamacho and Harumi met at the World Championships, where they formed an instant connection, marking the beginning of their artistic partnership both on and off the dance floor.
